Workshop

At Samhain, as we enter the darker half of the year and the veil between the worlds is thinnest, we gather to turn towards the unseen: our benevolent ancestors, helping spirits, the land and the more-than-human world that surrounds and supports us.

This potent time is a threshold, a time to remember those who came before us, feel into the roots and lineages we belong to, reflect on the ancestors we ourselves are becoming and listen more closely to the invisible world.

Over the weekend we will work with shamanic journeying, divination, ceremony and sacred making, creating tangible tools that become bridges between the worlds, helping us to call our allies close and listen for their guidance

At the heart of our time together, you will make your own hide rattle, created specifically to call in your benevolent ancestors and helping spirits. Through shamanic journeys, you will connect with the materials you are working with, discover what wants to go inside your rattle and invite spirit into its making.

You will also work with stones and other natural objects for divination and create your own ceremonial medicine bundle, a collection of spirit tools unique to you and your practice. We will work with Alchemy Water and Alchemy Fire, bringing the elements into our ceremonies through blessing, transformation, memory and connection.

There will be time around the making table for painting, decorating, storytelling and enjoying the simple, ancient pleasure of creating sacred objects together. Our making itself becomes ceremony.

We want you to leave not only with beautiful objects but also with ways of working with them, so that your rattle and medicine bundle can become living companions for the year ahead, helping you communicate with the unseen and call your allies close.
